How do I change the blower’s engine oil?

  1. Ensure that the blower has been turned off before you attempt an oil change. Do not let the engine get too cold, however as this lowers the oil’s viscosity significantly and increases the draining period. It is recommended that you allow your engine to run for a few minutes before switching off and continuing after a few more minutes.
  2. Carefully remove the dipstick taking care not to let oil drop onto the blower’s chassis. Clean the area around the oil sump of any stained oil as this can attract debris.
  3. Place a suitable oil draining container beside the oil outlet tubing. Ensure that you use a hose that is suitable for draining oil if the machine’s drain is located further inside.
  4. Use a socket wrench or suitable tool to loosen the blower’s oil drain plug. Ensure that you wait until all the oil has completely drained out.
  5. Tighten the oil drain plug once again and ensure that the seal is tight enough to prevent leakage. Clean the plug head of any left-over oil and proceed to fill fresh oil into the chamber. Use a suitable oil funnel tube to prevent any oil from spilling onto the blower’s chassis and snow blower could turn hot during operation and cause the oil to smoke.
  6. Inspect the oil level with the help of the dipstick. It is recommended that you use the dipstick to check the blower’s oil level after every other use as you may need to change oil more frequently than specified based on the operating conditions.
  7. Fasten the dipstick back in position and slot home the oil tube’s cap. Again, clean any excess or spilled oil.
  8. Turn on the snow blower and allow it to run for a minute before turning off the engine again.
